Destination On Location Presents
SCENE 1 Fade in. Manhattan street scene, late afternoon, corner of Madison Avenue and 57th Street. The traffic light changes—WALK--and dozens of chic, well-dressed women and men, all ages, hurry across the street. Camera zooms in on twentyish model-types, a chic 30-something woman talking into a cell phone, a meticulously groomed older woman, pushing back a lock of hair and riffling through her Birkin. Camera pans store windows (Tiffany, Bergdorf’s), stopping at the entrance to a posh hotel. A group of stylish women, 25-40, are talking excitedly, as they step into a gleaming town car. Bystanders look on.
BYSTANDER #1 What’s going on here? Are they making a movie? I think I recognize—no, no, that’s not her. BYSTANDER #2 (knowledgeably) It’s Destination On Location’s Luxury Weekend Getaway, experiencing hotspots featured on Sex and the City—haven’t you heard about it? Oh, look at her stunning shoes! I wonder where they’re going tonight? Enter the PRODUCER talking to DIRECTOR PRODUCER It’s much more than a long weekend of shopping, trendy restaurants, clubs, beauty treatments—that’s the difference we want to get across. It’s become a weekend with a SOUL, a time for real female bonding, opening up your head and your heart at the same time. I know, I know, it really is an EXPERIENCE--like stepping right into the show itself. But you need to give me more.
PRODUCER Okay. This show has touched an emotional chord in women all over the world. Somehow, the friendship of those four characters--Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha—has had a profound influence in changing women’s lives. So we’ve created a vehicle for real women to come together. They get to walk in the shoes of the characters, experience the shops, clubs, neighborhoods, plus there’s the camaraderie that made the show so special. DIRECTOR (musing) So we want to convey that universal appeal… |
